Decorating your kitchen and dining areas
Kitchen and dining areas have always been the heart of the home and should reflect the way that you live.
We’ve worked in lots of different spaces – open plan or separate, breakfast bar or kitchen island, grand dining table or just sitting down in front of the telly. We can help you find ways to make the most of your space and layout with clever use of décor to ‘zone’ areas.
Open-plan kitchens remain popular as they suit today’s lifestyle. Whether you have all the mod cons or a vintage Aga, our expertise will help you to make the most of where you gather to eat, drink and live.
In our experience, it’s often a good idea to use a neutral palette and then add little pops of colour. This can work particularly well for modern kitchens which feature lots of monochrome or stainless steel.
“Kitchens should be designed around what’s truly important – fun, food, and life.”
Pick your perfect paint
Choosing the right paint for your kitchen doesn’t have to be a chore. Dulux, Little Greene Paint Company and Farrow & Ball all do a range of products at great prices that are grease resistant, washable and even scrubbable. This is especially important when little fingers or four legged friends are around. You can find out more about the paints we prefer to use here.
Dine in style
Separate dining rooms may not be as popular nowadays but it’s a great opportunity to build on the occasion. As a result, you can afford to be braver about colours and shades on the walls and floors. Why not mix and match wallpaper and paint for a textured look?
For dining rooms, it’s often about accessories so you can enjoy setting the scene, then picking out accent colours and fabrics.
Feature walls make a style statement and can work really well in areas where you eat and drink.
I needed my house decorating ahead of putting it up for sale at quite short notice. Juniper-Ash were recommended by a colleague and, while they weren’t the cheapest, the service was beyond anything I’ve previously experienced.
It started with great advice on colours and treatments, then the attention to detail and the quality of the job, and finally the clean-up. Not only no paint-splattered sinks but they hoovered the rooms and the hallway where dust from sanding was lingering despite the floor covering (used everywhere) and washed the windows to remove any fine spray from rollering the adjacent walls.
I can’t recommend them enough.
Thank you so very much for all you have done.
Every where looks so bright and cheerful and the colour choices you suggested for the hall are lovely.

Thank you, we’re very pleased with our new pristine bathroom! And I love the door – I’m hoping I’ll be able to persuade Pete that we should do them all like that, as he was all for replacing them!
As well as the actual decorating job, we were really pleased with how you left everything clean and usable each day, took care of our belongings and made sure that everything was finished off properly within the time you originally said (in our experience with previous work we’ve had done on the house, none of these were the case!)
Steve and I were talking about yourself last night… we were discussing why we chose you rather than the other company who quoted for us. It was because of your lovely friendly and chatty nature.
You have done such a lovely job for us and we will have no hesitation in recommending your company!

We are as happy as “pigs in clover”, put furniture back in last night, and had a glass of something nice in the room with the lamps on.
The job was done perfectly Liz and we could not fault you, we love the colour and it’s so neatly finished.
Many, many thanks.
